Update before Bali
AS most of you have been informed maybe one two many times, WE ARE DONE!!!!!!!! Farm life is temporarily over. As I have said it before, it was a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone! No more apples unless we see them at the supermarket. We reached the goals we set out for ourselves while there and now we can reap the rewards!!!!!!!! BALI....
Currently we are in Melbourne with Mykie's sister and Kate, just mooching off them for another week, LOL LOL. They love us though! I cooked the most amazing dinner for them and in true spirit made the biggest pile of french crepes for Kate, at her request of course. The fact that someone requests I make something every time they see me means I must be good.... Well thank you! You all shall experience this at one point or another.
We are having a great time here in Melbourne. We took a lovely streetcar ride that houses a colonial style restaurant on it. All you can drink and wonderful food. Normally it is aurelia and Mykie that drink way too much, but this time the tables have turned and it was kate and I. We had a blast at being silly for once. After the dinner we hit the casino. We definitely left an impression on the casino after we left. We had a whole cheering squad as I was playing the tables. Came home with no winnings this time though. Next time. Aurelia did win on her first bet almost $200. Good for her.
We got to see Dark Knight the Batman movie in IMAX.... so good! I will say it again, SO GOOD. I was in love with Christian Bale until the next day I found out that he is a woman beater. YUK Well there goes my bubble. I don't know if it would have been the same if we would have watched in on the regular screen. Maybe it would???
A lovely friend of aurelia's, who is a DJ, is playing somewhere chic tonight and we are going to hit that party. I have not heard some good house music in a while. I think that the last time was when I saw Leila last in 1965. It has been that long, miss Leila.
We dinned at a great vegetarian restaurant called veggie bar which is right at the corner of Aurelia's house. My mom has been looking for a place like this for a while now. It is always so busy. Everything there is so fresh. I loved it. To top it off the prices are great too.
I saw my first footy game as well. Footy is like aggressive rugby. It is huge in Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!Almost anything goes. TO be honest, it was great. i am not that into watching sports but I had a great time. Even a few fights broke out. Men are flying everywhere, all over the place and each other. Very full on contact sport. After the footy game we dinned in Melbourne's equivalent of Little Italy. Kate's dad and uncle took us out. The food was really tasty. Mykie and I have always said we will eat in this district but never got around to it yet, until today.
I find it rather hard to walk through though because there are a hundred Italian restaurants next door to each other and each one has a host trying to convince you to come in. It can get a little annoying. It reminds me of Egypt and the constant hustling of people trying to sell you stuff you just don't want to buy. In this kind of area, it is hard to find the diamond in the rough.
We leave for Sydney sunday on an over night bus. We shall wander the city for about a day then catch our flight to Indonesia. Joanna, aurelia's roommate, told us about an orangatang wild life reserve/national park that we should visit. We looked it up and it is crazy. basically, you live on a river boat for two days. You have a personal chef, sleep on top of the boat under the stars and a mosquito net. During the day, you trek through forests and bushes where wild orangatangs live. This is not a zoo, but it is safe. I saw her pictures and they look awesome!!!!
We shall keep you all posted as often as we can but for now, check out my facebook because I posted a lot of pictures and video too. There are pictures of the farm so you can see what it is like. Enjoy
